One thing everyone may think when prostitution is mentioned is if it’s legal or not. Well in the United States, it’s not. The only state that may allow prostitution to be acted out is in some areas in Nevada. Anywhere outside of their eight “brothels” would be illegal. Also, in fact, there are actual legal businesses and whatnot associated with prostitution, which they keep on the “lowkey” side, or a secret.
Society views prostitution as a taboo, or something bad. They believe it isn’t right to sell your body for money, and that it should be completely left in the past. The majority think of it as disgraceful and that it takes away the meaning of sex. Prostitution is looked as something desperate and something that promotes violence toward women, as many people do gain diseases from this.
There are, indeed, benefits to prostitution. People wouldn’t do it if there wasn’t. The main benefit you get is that you know you will be making money off of it regardless. Also, if you were to be desperate, prostitution is basically easy sex. You wouldn’t have to get to know the person to perform sexual actions with them, or be in love. It’s something quick and easy anyone can do if they’re trying to make some “side money.”
You actually can make a living off of prostitution. It would be hard, though - looking for clients and making sure you get the money you want. You’ll be your own boss, of course. Meaning you will have to advertise yourself and know who or what knows what you’re doing. Also protection would be necessary as well, and it would be recommended you check the people you’re working with.
Another thing people may wonder is where prostitution came from. Well, it’s been around since humans were born. People have been doing it since and still now, strong and continuous. In fact, there are records from 2400 B.C. (The Sumerian Records) where they were performing these acts. It has always been the same, nothing has changed but the people and the diseases they may carry. Other than that, this is not new at all.
